So Much Wind: The Myth of Green Energy

Evaluating the Scottish government’s obsession with renewable energy, this book also looks at alternative sources of power that may prevent the lights from going out across Scotland. The energy crisis is one of the most pressing and significant problems the world has to face. With limited resources of fossil fuels left, and the additional political and environmental issues that surround their use, it is clear that life on earth cannot continue as it is without the development of alternative sources of power. The UK government’s policy of support for wind energy and its attempts to achieve 20 percent electricity generation from renewable sources by 2020 has been lauded by many, yet described as “a fatuous obsession” by others. Scotland’s targets are five times more ambitious and therefore invite intensive scrutiny. Scotland’s green energy myth is exposed: the truth is that wind turbines despoil the unique landscape and environment; they risk plunging the nation into a devastating energy crisis; and through noise, the flicker-effect, and vibration, they abuse the health and welfare of people and animals that have to live near them. Showing how these visual monstrosities produce a trickle of electricity at vast cost to the consumer, this book also demonstrates that they do not significantly reduce CO2 emissions.

  • This is a great book. Not only is the concept effective and works, it really helps you learn to eat the proper way. Yes the name may throw you off making you think this is a get slim quick method but it’s much more than that. Yes, you will lose just about the 15 lbs stated in the 10 days and you will understand why when you see what the plan is made up of. However JJ Smith is not saying to just drink smoothies for the rest of your life or stray away from all the things you love. She encourages to make better choices and choose healthier options as well. Online she has a very supportive group on social media to help you through the process. To see the transformations of some is truly amazing.
  • I did the cleanse a few times. It worked ask advertised, if I followed the book step by step I lost 10 pounds in 10 days. But after wards once you introduce yourself back to solid foods, even healthy ones, I gained it all back and more. I was 135 when I started the cleanse, 125 when I finished, and about 2 months later I was 145. I am extremely active and eat fairly healthy, but I feel like the cleanse was essentially starving me skinny.
  • I think this is a great book to get you back on track. These are all things that most of us know but often put in the back of our mind. I did the 10 days back on 4/10/17 and lost 10 pounds and have continued with two smoothies per day, my health snacks (boiled eggs, broccoli slaw, square bars, apples with unsweetened peanut butter, nuts, celery, carrots etc) and have lost another 12 pounds so down 22 pounds since 4/10/17. Having said that You must have a plan going into it and a plan coming out of it. It helped me to keep a journal. The best thing is no refined sugar since April and I am eating fairly clean and making sure I get my 10,000 steps in per day.

Best of Luck and remember you have to put in the work and although we are not counting calories, you will naturally take in less calories doing this and you have to get moving, science is science.

  • This is the real deal! I was initially skeptical until I spoke with a reliable source who swears by it. My husband is a health food junkie and didn’t mind preparing the meals and blending them for me. We did substitute the protein power with almonds (some stores’ health food isle have grinder that will grind the almond into a powder – perfect sub if you are skeptical about protein powders). I lost 12 pounds in 2 weeks with the modified version – a smoothie for breakfast, lunch and a sensible dinner. Thank you JJ Smith!
  • I did the 10 days and was religious. I continued to eat healthy afterwards and had smoothies for breakfast quite often. Most are delicious and it isn’t easy for food lovers but I lost 30 lbs in total…This includes the time after that I kept to eating well and heading to the gym a couple times a week. I probably lost 20 from just the cleanse. I would say the best part is kicking the sugar and caffeine. I have much more energy without drinking the morning coffee when I drink a smoothie in the morning.
  • The recommendations of this book worked, for the most part, and I lost all of the 15 lbs that I wanted to lose. Curiously, though, the belly pouch remained and I’m guessing that this might be due to my own failure to use the recommended detox teas? I don’t know for sure but I’m sticking with the smoothies as a twice daily meal replacement, and moderately eat other foods that I used before. These detox teas are kind of bitter tasting, and I need to drink more water, too; so, for me, this is still a work in progress but I’ll get there…eventually. This book is worth it – for those still on the fence.
  • I lost 10 lbs in 10 days!! Definitely, not easy at all but mind or matter. I think the smoothie recipes are very yummy!. I wanted to cry on day 3 and 4, but I pushed thru it and loving life and myself today. I snacked on raw nuts, carrots w/ no sugar or salt added peanut butter (1 tps) and only ate boil eggs (max 2 a day). I also did not feel the need for the added stevia, the fruits has enough sweetener to me. Overall, everything is better… my mood is phenomenal, my energy, my digestion system, my outlook on life & lots more benefits. If you are reading this, you are on the right path and definitely can do this!! Great Luck.
